Weekly Menu 12/4-12/8

I really can't believe its December already. This year has completely flown by! I feel as though I should give you fair warning: I have an absolute ton of recipes to post this month. More than likely, there will be a post every day so I can get everything in before the holiday. Plus I feel like its only fair to make it up to anyone who patiently sat around waiting for recipes while I was completely overwhelmed with my college classes.

This weekend was definitely the start of the Christmas season for me. The apartmetnt is decorated, we cut down a tree, I bought (more) presents and I started baking. I also have a Christmas song stuck in my head. Have you heard "I Want a Hippopotamus For Christmas"? It's been on replay in my brain since Friday morning.

"I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
Only a hippopotamus will do
No crocodiles, no rhinoceroses
I only like hippopotamuses
And hippopotamuses like me too"

Anyway. I hope to get the presents wrapped and the Christmas cards filled out today. Then I might start to feel a bit ahead of schedule. :-)

Sunday - Secret Recipe Club!

Monday - Crock Pot Mac and Cheese

Tuesday - Stuffed Peppers

Wednesday - Chicken Chimichangas

Thursday - Shrimp Scampi

The baked goods you can look out for soon are: chocolate pinwheel cookies, shortbread cookies and orange cranberry muffins.

  1. YAY, I'm so glad I found you! I'm also glad you loved the beef and seafood gumbo. Yep...a PITA to make, but so worth it! It was the first time making grits for me also. Hey, as long as they absorb the flavor of the gumbo, it's fine LOL
