It’s that time of year again! You know, the time where I invite 20+ family members over for the holiday, take off the day before to prep all of the food and then barely remember the holiday. 😏
Kind of. I usually remember most of it. This holiday is going to be a little bit different though.
First, we’re not in the apartment anymore Toto! There are pros and cons to this. The apartment had an open layout so everyone was basically in the same room and we could fill the massive island with all of the food, but the space wasn’t nearly big enough for the massive table that we needed. The house doesn’t have an open layout, the kitchen is blocked off from where the dining room table is, but at least the table, with both leaves in it, fits in the room. I’m still trying to figure out the logistics, but it always ends up working out in the end.
The other big difference about the holiday is some of the guests. My aunt and uncle (the ones who live at the beach) usually go back to Florida but after years of suggesting it, they’re finally staying here through Thanksgiving so they’ll be here!
So in addition to that aunt and uncle, we’ll also have my mom, two other aunts, three cousins, three second cousins, significant others, two kids, an uncle, a bird, a puppy…and a partridge in a pear tree.
(Hopefully not the partridge)
Anyway, here is the menu for this year:
