Fried Green Tomato BLT

A fried green tomato BLT is the perfect summer sandwich, using up those green tomatoes, bacon, lettuce and a spicy remoulade sauce.

Ingredients

For the Remoulade Sauce

  • 3 tablespoon mayo
  • 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper

For the BLT Sandwich

  • 4 slices green tomatoes fried
  • 4 slices rye bread
  • 4 slices bacon cooked

Instructions

Remoulade Sauce

  • Whisk all of the ingredients for the remoulade sauce together. Taste, and add more mayo if it is too spicy for your liking.

BLT

  • Toast the bread.
  • Spread remoulade sauce onto two pieces of bread.
  • Layer lettuce on top of the remoulade sauce, followed by two pieces of bacon for each sandwich.
  • Add 2 fried green tomato slices onto each sandwich. Drizzle the remaining remoulade sauce on top of the tomatoes.
  • Top each sandwich with the remaining piece of bread and slice in half.
