Garlic Parmesan Green Beans

Garlic Parmesan Green Beans are an easy side dish recipe that goes with any meal. Fresh green beans are cooked with garlic and Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb green beans fresh
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic minced
  • cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  • Rinse green beans under cold water then trim off the ends, if needed. Cut green beans into 1-2 inch pieces if desired.

  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the green beans and cook for 2-3 minutes, until just tender crisp. Then remove with a slotted spoon to a paper towel lined plate to absorb excess water.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat.

  • Add in the garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently, until fragrant.

  • Then add in the green beans and cook for 2-3 minutes more.
  • Remove from the heat and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper to taste.

Notes

If using frozen green beans, let thaw and start at step 3. 
Add cooked and crumbled bacon, caramelized onions, or lemon zest to bring more flavor into this delicious side dish.
