Fried Chicken BLT

Fried Chicken BLT is a take on the classic bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich but topped with a piece of crispy fried chicken and your favorite sauce.

Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • 6 thinly sliced chicken breasts or boneless, skinless thighs
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 2 tablespoon milk
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • ¾ cup all purpose flour
  • ¼ cup Wondra flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • canola oil for frying

For the Sandwich:

  • 6 rolls of your choice
  • 6 slices bacon cooked
  • 6 large lettuce leaves
  • 6 slices tomato
  • Optional: honey mustard BBQ sauce, hot sauce, ranch

Instructions

For the Chicken:

  • In a shallow dish, combine the egg, milk and hot sauce.
  • In another shallow dish, combine the all purpose flour, Wondra flour, salt, pepper, paprika and garlic powder.
  • Dip each piece of chicken into the flour, then the egg mixture, then back into the flour. Place on a plate and repeat with remaining pieces of chicken.
  • Heat the canola oil in a large skillet over high heat until it reaches 350 degrees.
  • Carefully add in the chicken and cook 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Transfer chicken to a paper towel lined plate.

For the Sandwich:

  • Lightly toast the rolls.
  • Spread with your favorite sauce or mayonnaise.
  • Place a slice of lettuce on the bottom of the bun, followed by a slice of bacon and the tomato. Top with a piece of fried chicken.
  • Add additional sauce to the top of the bun and serve.
