Honey Bourbon Baked Ham

Honey Bourbon Baked Ham is an easy glazed ham recipe, featuring a brown sugar, butter, bourbon and honey glaze spread over a pre-cooked ham.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb precooked ham
  • ¼ cup bourbon
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Place a rack inside of a baking dish. (I use my toaster oven rack in a 9x13 baking dish). Add 1 cup of water.
  • Use a sharp knife to cut a cross pattern into the top of the ham. Place ham face down on the baking rack (So the cuts are at the top and the first slice of meat would be facing down)
  • Cook ham in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, combine bourbon, brown sugar, butter and honey in a small saucepan over medium high heat. Bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Boil for 2 minutes, then remove from the heat and let thicken slightly.
  • Pour half of the glaze on top of the ham and return the ham to the oven for another 10 minutes or until it reaches an internal temperature of 135-140 degrees and is warmed through.
  • Remove the ham from the oven and pour the remaining glaze on top. Let rest 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

This recipe was made using a ¼ ham that was 2 lbs. There is enough glaze for a 4 pound ham. If cooking a larger ham, click on the 2x or 3x at the top of the recipe to increase the amounts needed for the glaze. Ham will need to cook an additional 10-15 minutes per additional pound. Divide glaze to add more every 10 minutes of baking.
