I don't know about you, but I love me a good variety of sweets and treats any time of the year. Of course, Halloween is the perfect holiday to make a treat board because there are just SO many candy options out there! I love how easily it is to customize this sweet treat board to what you like!
What is a Sweet Treats Board?
A Halloween Sweet Treats Board is just like a charcuterie or cheese plate, just with different ingredients! This board is filled with options like chocolate covered pretzels, gummy worms and all of your favorite Halloween candies.
How to make a Halloween treat board
- Choose a variety of ingredients. Pick your favorite Halloween sweets in a variety of textures (soft, chewy, hard, crunchy, etc).
- Arrange opposite colors and textures on the board. Next to a crunchy item, place a soft item. Or alternate shapes - round items next to long items. Place smaller items into bowls.
- Add decorations. Include items like candy eyes or even plastic spiders to decorate the board!
What to include on a Halloween treat board
- Candy: candy corn, candy pumpkins, Reese's cups, mini candy bars, gumballs
- Nuts: add some savory to the board by using a salted nut mixture or mix it up with a spicy option!
- Pretzels: regular pretzels or chocolate covered ones make a great addition
- Cookies: Oreos, sugar cookies, vanilla wafers
- Donuts: donut holes or mini donuts - chocolate coated, powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, etc.
- Ants on a Log: celery sticks filled with peanut butter and topped with raisins is a great healthy option to add to the board
- Ghost Meringue Cookies can make a board spookier!
- Popcorn: caramel popcorn or plain is a great choice for a treat board
- Make a sweet pumpkin flavored dip and serve it in a hallowed out mini pumpkin
- Fruit or Fruit Roll Ups: these can easily fill in small empty spaces on a board. Tip: Dip strawberries into melted white chocolate and pipe eyes on them with black food coloring to create Ghost Strawberries
- Decor: plastic spiders, eyeball sprinkles, mini pumpkins, etc.
