Disclaimer: This recipe was created for #HalloweenTreatsWeek. I received product samples from our sponsors. All opinions are 100% my own.
Baking doughnuts is so easy. Especially these Caramel Sprinkled Baked Doughnuts! Every time I pull out my doughnut pan I wonder why I don't make them more frequently. Whisk up some ingredients, pour into a pan and bake for usually less than 10 minutes. How many homemade baked desserts recipes are easier than that?
IS IT DOUGHNUT OR DONUT?
I tackle the really important questions here on Cookaholic Wife. Like doughnut vs donut. You know you were waiting for this very important, only to be taken seriously information. Doughnut is the original, more preferred spelling. Donut is the Americanized, shortened version that is also accepted. Personally, I can't stand typing and seeing the red squiggle under words, so "Doughnut" it is for me.
ARE BAKED DOUGHNUTS HEALTHIER THAN FRIED?
Yes and no. It all depends on the ingredients and toppings. The base of this donut, before the caramel and sprinkles are added is 192 calories. A similar fried donut is 237 calories before caramel and sprinkles are added.
