Boozy Bourbon Cupcakes

Boozy Bourbon Cupcakes are the perfect cupcake for the bourbon lovers in your life. Bourbon is in the cupcake, the glaze and the buttercream frosting!

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line two cupcake pans with paper liners.
  2. In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the cake mix and ingredients to make it (eggs/water/oil) along with the bourbon and vanilla. Beat for 2-3 minutes or until smooth.
  3. Divide the batter into the cupcake pans, filling each no more than half way full.
  4. Bake according to box directions, usually 18-20 minutes.
  5. Remove the cupcakes from the oven and allow to cool on a wire rack.
  6. Once cooled slightly, poke the tops of the cupcakes with a toothpick and use a pastry brush to brush bourbon over them.
  7. Prepare the frosting by adding all of the butter to a stand mixer and beating on medium speed for 3 minutes.
  8. Add in the powdered sugar 1/2 to 1 cup at a time until fully combined.
  9. Add in the bourbon and salt and mix until combined.
