Pear Ginger Pie is a gorgeous pie made with fresh pears and ginger and topped with a streusel crumble topping, making it the star of your holiday table.

For the Crust:

  1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.
  2. Roll out the pie crust into a deep dish pie plate. Prick the pie crust with a fork.
  3. Bake for 10 minutes, or until lightly golden.
  4. Remove from the oven and set aside.

For the Filling: 

  1. Combine pear slices with fresh ginger in a large bowl. Squeeze lemon juice on top. Sprinkle sugar on top. Let rest for 10 minutes.
  2. Drain excess liquid. Add flour, ground cinnamon and nutmeg and salt. Toss to coat.
  3. Layer pears into an even layer in the prebaked pie plate.

For the Topping: 

  1. Combine softened butter with flour, sugar and ground ginger until it forms coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over the top of the pie.

To Bake:

  1. Reduce oven temperature to 375 and bake pie for 1 hour. Let cool completely before slicing and serving.
